Favorite Boba Places

I thought it was about time to list my favorite places to get boba. For anyone who doesn't know what boba is, it's basically large tapioca pearls put into drinks, such as fruit smoothies and teas, particularly Thai Tea. It's sometimes known as bubble tea, but I prefer the term boba.

Here are some places I've gotten boba from, all located in Oceanside except for the last one:

Surf City Squeeze at Westfield Shoppingtown Plaza Camino Real - My favorite drink to add boba to here is the Mango Tango smoothie with coconut added. Friendly service, too!

L&L Hawaiian Barbecue on Vista Way near Petco - Not all locations offer boba, but this one does. I've had it in their mango smoothie and also their coconut smoothie. Their smoothies are very sweet. Service is good.

Fresh O Natural Yogurt & Smoothie on Old Grove Road near Pollos Maria and Ralphs - Their boba isn't the greatest, but it's close to home and satisfies the craving. It's been a while since I had one there so I can't remember which smoothies I've had boba in from there. As a side note, their frozen yogurt is great and they have my favorite topping: mochi. Service is also good here.

Bubble Tea on Pier View Way between Cleveland and Tremont - I haven't tried this place yet but it comes highly recommended by a friend. Whenever we're down there it's usually for the Sunset Market and I prefer to patronize the vendors there. I'll write a review once I've visited and tried their boba.

Yogurlicious in National City on Plaza Boulevard nearby Colortyme and Starbucks - So far this is the only place I've had boba in Thai Tea. It is heavenly, and the service is great. The college-aged kids who work there are really friendly. Their frozen yogurt and smoothies are also good. Their mochi (my favorite yogurt topping) comes brightly colored.

I didn't include prices because I honestly can't remember them, but they all ranged somewhere between $3 and $4.

That's it for now. Happy boba hunting!

Boba!

Lately, it's all about boba. Can't get enough of it. Boba in a mango and coconut smoothie from the mall is amazing. So is boba in Thai tea. Nom. I wonder if it's just due to the warm and humid summer we're having. We'll just have to see when the weather cools down. That remains to be seen, but right now boba is my latest obsession.
